Sophia Wilm works with textiles, combining them with screen printing or the soak-stain technique, in which diluted paint seeps into untreated canvas and is built up in layers. She often draws inspiration from memories and scenes that convey a deep sense of comfort. Her newer series shows relief-like, slightly distorted, stuffed figures that seem to emerge from the canvas, evoking a dreamlike atmosphere.
